Tour Overview

The programme includes thirteen suggested overnight stays. It has a balanced pace with some longer transfer days, additional time around Sigiriya, Kandy and Ella, and an overnight base near Udawalawe for an optional safari arrangement. The safari is not automatically included in the transport price.

The overnight destinations are suggested places to stay, not included hotel reservations. A private vehicle and driver form the basis of the transport request; your quotation confirms the actual arrangement.

Tour Highlights

Spend more time on cultural visits, explore Kandy at your own pace, travel through Nuwara Eliya and Ella, consider a separately arranged Udawalawe safari, and finish with time in the Galle area before Colombo.

Day-by-Day Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival and Negombo

Meet your driver and transfer to your chosen accommodation in Negombo. Keep the first day flexible around the arrival time and the journey you have already made. There is no need to begin with a busy sightseeing programme before the tour has properly started.

Overnight destination: Negombo.

Day 2: Travel to the cultural triangle

Continue to your base in the Sigiriya area. An agreed stop in Dambulla may be included when it suits the day’s timing and your interests. Settle into the accommodation from which you will explore the area over the following days.

Overnight destination: Sigiriya area.

Day 3: Sigiriya and nearby visits

Spend time on selected cultural visits and leave space for rest between activities. Agree the visits and walking requirements around the people travelling, rather than treating the programme as a checklist of attractions to finish in a single day.

Overnight destination: Sigiriya area.

Day 4: Another day in the cultural triangle

Consider an excursion to Polonnaruwa or a different activity that suits your interests. The final choice should reflect the distance, the time required and your preferred pace. This additional day allows you to select a broader programme without repeating the previous day’s visits.

Overnight destination: Sigiriya area.

Day 5: Continue to Kandy

Travel to Kandy with the stops agreed in your itinerary. Settle into your accommodation and keep the remaining time suited to the journey. A fuller day in Kandy follows, so there is no need to fit every visit into the arrival afternoon.

Overnight destination: Kandy.

Day 6: Explore Kandy at your pace

Choose cultural visits, gardens or a quieter programme according to your interests. Guiding and attraction admissions depend on the arrangements confirmed in your quotation. The day can be adjusted to the amount of sightseeing and walking your group would like.

Overnight destination: Kandy.

Day 7: Kandy to Nuwara Eliya

Travel through the hill country with agreed scenic or tea-related stops. Keep the programme realistic around the journey to Nuwara Eliya. Your driver service and any booked guiding help shape the day according to the arrangements you have chosen.

Overnight destination: Nuwara Eliya.

Day 8: Continue to Ella

Continue by road, or take a separately confirmed train segment with an agreed luggage and meeting plan. Train availability and coordination must be checked before the alternative becomes part of the itinerary. A train journey is not guaranteed simply because it appears as an option.

Overnight destination: Ella.

Day 9: A day around Ella

Allow time for local visits, walking or relaxation. The day should reflect your group’s interests, conditions and how active you would like to be. You remain in Ella for another night, leaving flexibility instead of adding a further hotel change.

Overnight destination: Ella.

Day 10: Ella to the Udawalawe area

Travel towards the next overnight base near Udawalawe. Discuss the timing of an optional safari instead of assuming it can be fitted into the same afternoon. The wildlife arrangement and its costs should be confirmed separately from the road-transfer service.

Overnight destination: Udawalawe area.

Day 11: Optional safari and continue to Galle

An optional safari requires a separately arranged safari vehicle and park admission. Afterwards, continue to the Galle area according to the agreed timing. The programme does not promise wildlife sightings, and the safari should not be mistaken for a drive in your regular touring vehicle.

Overnight destination: Galle area.

Day 12: Galle and the coast

Choose local sightseeing or a relaxed coastal day. Decide in advance whether the driver is needed for the full day or whether you prefer time independently. Keep any adjustment consistent with the service dates and arrangements confirmed in your quotation.

Overnight destination: Galle area.

Day 13: Continue to Colombo

Travel towards Colombo and include only the stops that fit comfortably within the day. The final overnight stay is in Colombo before the departure transfer. Your interests and arrival time determine whether any additional city visit is appropriate.

Overnight destination: Colombo.

Day 14: Departure transfer

Transfer to the airport according to the confirmed flight and pickup arrangements. Review the departure details with the rest of the itinerary before confirmation, allowing the travel plan to reflect the actual flight rather than an assumed schedule.

Overnight stay: None within this itinerary.
