I found myself becoming a tour guide almost by chance. It all started on a lucky day in 2014 when, as part of my job providing transport services to travel companies, I was dropping off a tour vehicle. It turned out that the assigned tour guide couldn’t make it due to a little mishap. Rather than avoiding the responsibility, I decided to step in as the guide myself. That first 14-day tour, also the longest I’ve ever been on, ended up being a life-changing experience.

Nine years down the road, I’m still going strong as a tour guide in Sri Lanka , and there’s never a dull moment in this exciting career. My favorite aspect of the job is creating special experiences for visitors, offering them uniquely Sri Lankan adventures that they’ll remember forever.
